Our Story & Mission
Frank Hare, with other local pastors from Athens OH, started the Athens County Food panty in 1980. His dedication and leadership helped the pantry grow from a collection of churches united to serve families to a vital organization that continues to advance its mission of fighting food insecurity in the region.
-Billie Joe
We thank all of our generous donors. Without their donations, both large and small, we could not do the work we do. We are thankful for our individual donors, including all our friends in Louisiana, Cincinnati, and beyond. We especially thank Joe Burrow for shining a light on hunger in SE Ohio, leading to the creation of our endowment, the Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund. (And for Will Drabold and others for starting Facebook fundraisers.)
We depend entirely upon the support of our local and extended community, through individual and group donations, churches, business partners, fundraisers, and grants.
